Masai Mara Sopa Lodge Overview

Located on the Oloolaimutia Hills in Masai Mara, Mara Sopa Lodge stands as one of the pioneering safari lodges in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Embracing lush gardens and mature trees, the lodge’s architectural style mirrors traditional African round houses with conical roofs, extending along the hill’s ridge.   • Positioned a few steps below the reception, the generously sized circular lounge is accessed from both guest accommodation wings. It boasts a sizable central fireplace rising twenty meters to the thatched conical roof. The walls are adorned with murals in harmonious earthy hues, creating a cozy atmosphere. A well-appointed bar complements the room, leading to a sheltered veranda offering views of the swimming pool, gardens, and the game reserve.

Dining & Wining

  • The inviting Jumbo Bar showcases a unique counter adorned with cowrie shells and beads, a well-stocked bar, and comfortable seating, perfect for pre and post-dinner gatherings with friends and family.
  • The Swimming Pool Bar, nestled beneath the dining room, is a charming spot sheltered by an overhead garden. The lively barman ensures guests’ needs are met.
  • The Ol Murrani Bar, situated below the swimming pool, features a standalone structure with an adjacent open-air campfire area. The bar exudes a warm ambiance, complete with a sports television and a pool table. A spacious outdoor deck provides a vantage point to observe wildlife like Hyenas, Mongooses, and Honey badgers.

The circular dining room, akin to the lounge, houses a central fireplace with a tall chimney. Pastel-colored walls complement natural-stone framed paintings depicting Maasai’s daily life. Generously sized buffet tables offer a variety of dishes, from fresh salads to succulent main courses, live cooking stations, an array of desserts, and a selection of cheeses.

The dining room also features an outdoor timber deck for alfresco dining. Every other evening, guests can enjoy an African-themed food extravaganza, blending traditional African cuisine with the chef’s creative touches.
